AREA EMPLOYERS HIRING AT GOODWILL SPRING CAREER FAIR
Goodwill of Central Virginia will hold its Annual Spring Career Fair on
Tuesday, April 4 from 4-7 p.m. at its main facility, 6301 Midlothian
Turnpike. Over 30 area employers and community organizations and
hundreds of job seekers are expected to participate at the free, public
event.
According to recent labor market data from the Virginia Employment
Commission, there are over 21,000 people in the Richmond metropolitan
area that are unemployed (3.4% of the labor force); many others are
underemployed. Goodwill of Central Virginia works with local employers
to meet the needs of their businesses as well as the needs of the
community and helps job seekers through an array of education and
training services offered by its walk-in Job Center.
This career event will provide employment opportunities for both
graduates of Goodwill programs and for other job seekers in the
community. Corporations, non-profit organizations and governmental
agencies will be meeting with, interviewing and hiring qualified
candidates for full-time employment as well as part-time and seasonal
positions in a variety of fields, such as administrative, banking,
communication, customer service, environmental services, food service,
healthcare, human services, production/light industrial, recreation,
retail, and transportation.
Goodwill's Annual Spring Career Fair is accessible by the bus line, and
parking is available on-site. Job seekers are encouraged to bring a copy
of their resume and dress in professional attire. OfficeMax Print &
Document Services will provide resume paper and copy services at no
