GOODWILL BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF TRAINING CENTER
PETERSBURG, VA – Goodwill of Central Virginia celebrated the start of
construction of its 16,100 square foot Community Training Center in
Petersburg last month with a special ceremony for agency leaders, local
dignitaries, and special guests. The milestone celebration at the site
of construction, 36 Crater Circle, marks a new era for the local
Goodwill as it expands and develops new programs and services to address
the needs of individuals and businesses throughout its Central Virginia
territory.
Goodwill of Central Virginia is excited to unveiled an exciting, new brand presence in October,
including the adoption of a new name and a new look. These local
changes provide a foundation for Goodwill’s expansion and modernization
plans, which include the anticipated opening of three new locations over
the next year in Mechanicsville, Petersburg, and Midlothian.
Goodwill of Central Virginia is excited about the growth of its
operation as it expands into new areas within the Tri-Cities communities.
The agency currently operates locations in both Chester and Colonial
Heights. The new center, which is slated to open in August, will combine
workforce development services with donation collection, processing and
retail operations.
Goodwill stores feature gently used and new clothing, housewares, and
home furnishings, with a great selection of fresh merchandise arriving
daily. When the community shops at Goodwill stores and auctions, they are
changing lives by providing revenue to fund education, training, and job
placement services for individuals with obstacles to employment,
including disabilities and disadvantages such as dependency on public
assistance and lack of education and work experience.
